Class of 1945 — 75th Milestone
Alumni Weekend, originally planned for April 24 and 25, has been postponed, helping to slow the spread of COVID-19. During this time of uncertainty, this decision is best for the protection of Rutgers’ alumni, staff, faculty, and friends.
During these difficult times, student support is more critical than ever.
The Class of 1945 has always remained dedicated to supporting the needs of students through our generous giving over the years. Now is no different. Despite not convening on campus for our 75th reunion just yet, we can still make an enormous impact.
Our campaign efforts to support the Class of 1945 Crew Shell Fund and the Class of 1945 Jack Dempsey Scholarship directly impact the lives of Rutgers students. Right now, scholarships are of the utmost importance as students grapple with a loss of on-campus jobs, income, affordable housing, and necessities.
Class Gift & Giving Goal
Increase endowments for Class of 1945 Crew Shell Fund and Class of 1945 John L. Dempsey Scholarship Fund.
A message from your reunion campaign chair.
Alumni support matters every year, but it is especially significant this year as you celebrate your class milestone anniversary. Together, as a class, you can continue the time-honored tradition of giving back.
In honor of your 50th anniversary, the class proudly endowed the Class of 1945 John L. Dempsey Memorial Scholarship, which gives preference to a physically challenged student as a tribute to Jack Dempsey’s courage, fortitude, and determination. By increasing the endowment, you will enable Rutgers to continue to invest in the future of deserving students.
In 2000, to commemorate your 55th reunion, the Class of 1945 Crew Shell Endowment was established to provide a gift of a racing shell to carry the name “Class of 1945 – Forever” and provide financial assistance to the crew program at the university.
Let’s “wow ‘em” at reunion with at least 80 percent of your class making a gift to the Class of 1945 John L. Dempsey Memorial Scholarship, the Class of 1945 Crew Shell Endowment, or any other interests you may have at Rutgers.
