Class of 1966 — 55th Milestone Campaign
It is hard to believe that in 2021, our class will celebrate 55 years since graduation. Five and a half decades have passed since Rutgers challenged each of us—whether it was in the classroom, on the playing field, or through any number of campus activities. Plans are underway to celebrate our 55th reunion during Homecoming/Alumni Weekend in October of 2021. Event dates and details will be announced in the coming months.
The Bicentennial Class of 1966 has been very philanthropic over the years. Our 50th reunion gift is visible on Old Queens campus in the refurbishment of three gates. To commemorate our 30th, we proudly endowed the Class of 1966 Scholarship Fund, which is awarded annually to talented Rutgers students. As we look to mark our 55th anniversary, we will continue to support our great students and are pleased to announce that our class will focus this milestone year on raising funds in support of the Scarlet Promise Grants initiative.
On his first day in office, Rutgers 21st president, Jonathan Holloway, announced the launch of a $10 million campaign for Scarlet Promise Grants, an initiative that is a top priority for the university. Scarlet Promise Grants differ from scholarships in that they fill the gap for students with unmet financial needs or hardship appeals, such as the death of a parent, loss of employment, and health emergencies. You can read about the grants in more detail by visiting support.rutgers.edu and I strongly encourage you to do so. Help us help these students.
Our hope is to be able to endow the Class of 1966 Scarlet Promise Grant Fund with at least $25,000 and we need your help to achieve that goal. Please join us in making a gift to the Class of 1966 Fund which houses funds for our class gifts.
Please join us in commemorating this 55th anniversary year by making a gift to the Class of 1966 Fund.
