Class of 1970 — 50th Milestone
Alumni Weekend, originally planned for April 24 and 25, has been postponed, helping to slow the spread of COVID-19. During this time of uncertainty, this decision is best for the protection of Rutgers’ alumni, staff, faculty, and friends.
During these difficult times, student support is more critical than ever.
The Class of 1970 has always remained dedicated to supporting the needs of students through our generous giving over the years. Now is no different. Despite not convening on campus for our 50th reunion just yet, we can still make an enormous impact. Our campaign efforts to support the Class of 1970 Oral History Project, the Class of 1970 Scholarship, and Class of 1970 Lecture Series directly impact the lives of Rutgers students. Scholarships are of utmost importance at this time, as students grapple with a loss of on-campus jobs, income, affordable housing, and necessities.
If you have the means, please give what you can to the Class of 1970 Fund, because student support is vital during this time. After all, at Rutgers, this is what we do. We come together as a community to work together when it’s needed most. Your generosity will help prepare the next generation of students to better our world.
Class Giving Goal
Class of 1970 Oral History Project, Class of 1970 Lecture Series, and increase the endowment of Class of 1970 Scholarship.
It’s our 50th class anniversary!
The Class of 1970 will mark this most significant of alumni milestones with a gift to Rutgers’ Department of History to name the Class of 1970 Oral History Project. This initiative will gather oral histories from Class of 1970 alumni, highlighting our time at Rutgers and will encompass the years of 1969 and 1970 specifically. This historical project will be our class legacy and a point of pride for many generations to come. In addition, we will continue to fund the Class of 1970 Lecture Series at the School of Arts and Sciences and increase the endowment of the Class of 1970 Scholarship Fund.
To help us achieve our $150,000 goal, we ask that you make this 50th reunion year the year you make your most significant gift to the Class of 1970 Fund. All gifts to Rutgers from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020, will count in our class giving total – however, only gifts made specifically to the Class of 1970 Fund will support our special class gift initiatives.
Don’t forget! Reunion is the perfect time to think about including Rutgers in your estate planning. Through an IRA rollover, gift in your will, or beneficiary designation, you can have a meaningful, long-term impact while taking steps to benefit your own financial situation.
Let’s do this Class of 1970!
