Prudential Creates New Scholarship Program
Prudential, a corporate stalwart in Newark, committed $10 million to the Honors Living-Learning Community (HLLC). The gift, the largest ever for Rutgers–Newark, underwrites the Prudential Scholars Program, providing scholarships to Newark residents who enroll in the HLLC to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

Alumnus Gives $10 Million to School of Engineering
The School of Engineering at Rutgers will continue to attract talented students and produce highly qualified engineers, thanks to alumnus Richard N. Weeks, who made a commitment of $10 million to support undergraduate scholarships at the school. The pledge by Weeks ENG’50 is the largest gift to the engineering school.

Lavelle Fund gift for blindness program
A grant from the Lavelle Fund for the Blind to Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care aims to address the challenge of depression and vision loss through a new program called Eye2Eye. Conceived by Steven Silverstein, director of research at UBHC, Eye2Eye is a peer telesupport mental health program for New York City and New Jersey residents who are blind or visually impaired.
