Thank you for signing up to be an ambassador for Rutgers Giving Day on March 23, 2022! As an ambassador, you can become eligible to receive a Rutgers throwback pennant. Read on for more information.

What is a Rutgers Giving Day Ambassador?

Ambassadors help raise awareness about Rutgers Giving Day and inspire support by spreading the word with friends, family, and peers in their personal networks. #RUGivingDay ambassadors can reach out to friends and family via social media, text, and/or email. As an ambassador, you’ll receive a personal tracking link to share. This will track donors who make a gift through your outreach efforts.

What do I actually do as a Rutgers Giving Day ambassador?

There are many ways to participate in #RUGivingDay as an ambassador. Here’s how to join in:

  • Between March 9 and March 22, check out givingday.rutgers.edu to familiarize yourself with all the fund options, challenges, matches, and leaderboard.
  • On March 23, use your personal link and any of the sample posts within the Spread the Word tab at givingday.rutgers.edu to inspire friends and family to make a gift to any Rutgers Giving Day fund. Ambassador links allow you to spread the word, help the Rutgers Giving Day team keep track of donations that you bring in, and potentially help your favorite Rutgers area win award money through the hourly and daylong giving challenges.
  • Keep track of the day’s success via the leaderboards.
  • Post on social media using #RUGivingDay.

How do I become eligible to receive a pennant?

All you have to do is share your unique tracking link to inspire a minimum of three people (you and two others) to make a gift, and you’ll be eligible to receive a Rutgers throwback pennant. Make sure to give through your link, and share it far and wide to increase your chances of success! If you are eligible, we will reach out to you after Rutgers Giving Day to confirm your mailing address.

Are there any trainings for ambassadors?

Yes! Optional online ambassador trainings will be held in early March to help ensure your success. Please sign up here.

Thanks so much for joining the entire Rutgers community on March 23, 2022, to show the world what excellence looks like.
