A Network for Good
The Corporate Relations team forges long-term partnerships between the university and corporations in New Jersey, across the United States, and around the world. These partnerships span disciplines, schools, and programs in all collaborative arenas: sponsored research, technology commercialization, recruitment, executive education, and philanthropy.
Creating Vital Relationships
The center has a coordinated strategy to engage companies, geared not only to business partnerships in research and career services, but also toward philanthropy that benefits the university. At the hub of this strategic approach is Rutgers’ Corporate Engagement Center.
Jointly established by Rutgers University Foundation and the Office of Research and Economic Development, the center offers a “one-stop shop” for members of the Rutgers community at all locations looking to forge partnerships with businesses and for companies seeking all the opportunities Rutgers has to offer.
Rather than offering one-off, strictly transactional collaborations, the CEC is designed to build complex, long-term relationships between Rutgers and individual corporations and to change the way corporations look at the university.
Aligning Corporate and University Goals
Rutgers offers virtually everything a major corporation looks for in an academic partner, including multiple locations along the Philadelphia-New York City corridor, which place it at the heart of the financial and industrial world.
Rutgers also offers strength in the form of future hires—embodied in the number, diversity, and excellence of Rutgers’ student body—and a large, high-caliber faculty conducting cutting-edge research across a wide range of disciplines.
The university has an ability to leverage connections with alumni in high-ranking corporate roles, and the foundation’s Corporate Relations and Alumni Relations teams are instrumental in identifying and building on those connections.
