A daylong reunion celebration of Rutgers University graduates from the New Brunswick classes of 1973, 1968, 1963, 1958, 1953, and 1948 will honor alumni on Friday, November 3.
Rutgers–New Brunswick alumni with landmark anniversaries from 50 years ago and every five years prior dating back to the Class of 1948—who will be celebrating their 75th anniversary—will be honored with a daylong celebration of activities on the College Avenue campus.
Reunion activities include lunch with Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway, a reunion parade, ringing the Old Queens Bell with Rutgers–New Brunswick Chancellor Francine Conway, campus tours, a session about the Rutgers Oral History Project, and a reception featuring Rutgers concert musicians.
Unlike past years, the 2023 reunion celebration is being held independently of the annual Homecoming and Family Weekend, which was held October 12-15. “This new timing for our reunions allows us to put more of a focus on alumni celebrating these landmark reunion years,” says Scott Owens, Rutgers’ associate vice president for engagement. “We are thrilled to welcome our alumni to campus to honor them for a full day.”
Activities begin with a welcome at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, in the Rutgers Alumni House at Van Nest Hall and run through the closing reception, which begins at 3:30 p.m. In addition to the activities, alumni are invited to visit the Zimmerli Art Museum, the Rutgers Geology Museum, and Kirkpatrick Chapel.
