Almost 18,000 New Rutgers Alumni Celebrated in the Class of 2025

With the completion of Rutgers University commencement and convocation ceremonies on Thursday, the population of Rutgers alumni—which last year crossed the 600,000 threshold—has grown by almost 18,000.
To be more exact, this year an estimated 17,917 graduates received degrees and certificates: 13,133 from Rutgers–New Brunswick and Rutgers Health; 3,123 from Rutgers–Newark; and 1,660 from Rutgers–Camden.
“You are now a part of a powerful global community,” Gloria Vanderham, chair of the Rutgers University Alumni Association (RUAA), told Rutgers–New Brunswick and Rutgers Health graduates at SHI Stadium in Piscataway on Sunday. “Think of it as an extended family that is continually growing.”
Degrees granted this week across the university consisted of approximately 11,237 baccalaureate degrees, 4,699 master’s degrees, 1,898 doctorates (including professional doctorates), and 82 professional certificates.
Prior to the new class of graduates, Rutgers had awarded 711,274 academic degrees since its founding 259 years ago in 1766, and the population of Rutgers living alumni numbered 600,400.
