Clayton Walton, an alumnus and executive director of the Rutgers–Newark Office of Global Initiatives and Experiential Learning, is excited about the dramatic influence his program has on students who study abroad in the Global South, which includes Latin America, Africa, and much of Asia. Rutgers alumnus Jim Cullen will reach a special milestone in his giving to Rutgers this month when the scholarship he created is awarded to a 100th Piscataway High School graduate. His endowment has helped reduce expenses for students so they can focus on academics and volunteering.
An anonymous gift to the Rutgers Law School in Camden funding a scholarship named for Joel B. Rosen, a retired federal magistrate judge and 1973 Rutgers Law alumnus, will support law students in financial need. The gift was celebrated in honor of Rosen’s 80th birthday.
Combining the best of Rutgers’ two medical schools—each with long histories of exceptional education and service—will create opportunities to serve New Jersey in myriad ways. Pending accreditation in 2027, the New Jersey Medical School in Newark and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick will form one powerhouse: the future Rutgers School of Medicine.
